This Privacy Policy explains how Samuel Company Ministries (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
1. Responsible Party

2. Information We Collect
- Contact details you submit through our forms: name, address, phone number, email address, and the ministry interests you select.
- Event registration details, including any event-specific information you provide (such as dietary or accessibility needs).
- Payment information for online donations and event fees. This is collected and processed by our payment processor, PayFast. We do not receive or store your card details.
- Technical information collected automatically, such as log data, and data collected by Google reCAPTCHA to protect our forms from abuse.
3. Why We Process Your Information
We process your information to respond to your enquiries, provide pastoral care, process donations and event registrations, and meet our legal obligations. We rely on your consent, our legitimate interests, and legal obligations as the lawful bases for processing.
4. Special Personal Information
Information about your religious beliefs is “special personal information” under POPIA. As a religious body, we process this information about our members and participants with consent and in the course of our activities, as permitted by POPIA.
5. Sharing Your Information
We share personal information with operators who help us run our services, including PayFast (payments), Google reCAPTCHA (form protection), and our hosting and email providers. Some of these providers may process your information outside South Africa; where they do, we take reasonable steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection, as required by section 72 of POPIA.
6. Security & Retention
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to safeguard your personal information, and we keep it only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above or as required by law.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to object to its processing. To exercise these rights, contact our Information Officer at admin@samuelcompanyministries.org. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa):

8. Cookies
We use only essential cookies needed for the website to function and cookies set by Google reCAPTCHA. We do not use analytics or marketing cookies.
9. Children
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without the consent of a parent or guardian. Where we collect information about children in the course of our ministry, we do so with such consent.
